X-mas Cheer

Ok, here are the drawings I was supposed to show before the last post.. Assignment: Draw from a selection of classical Christmas characters. I chose Rudoplh the Red-Nosed Reindeer, Santa, and a kid on Christmas morning.. Rudoplh of course, being my favorite, but I also like how Santa's head came out. Enjoy (: .

Not-So-Epic Rudolph

Ha ha.. Yeah, I know I shouldn't have put up my sketches/rough drawings first, but here I go, putting up a coloured pic of my once-epic Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. I say this because I think he looked better as a rough because I had to fight with my Wacom tablet because it was being choppy and slow when I was drawing the cleaned-up lines >:( . Very unhappy.. But I just went through with it and voila. Here it is. Hope you can like it without noticing the screwy lines here and there (I shrunk it some so you can't really noticed the troubles I was having with my drawing tablet :P .. You don't want to know what it looked like before hand :S ).

And Now, What You Have All Been Waiting For...

Ta-da! After many weeks (3 I believe, but a good amount none the less) I give you my latest and greatest animation project: The Exploding Puppy! Ha ha.. Hey, I thought it was cute :P , in a morbidly funny sort of way.. He just so happened to catch a a stick of dynamite thinking it was a bone and.. well, you can guess the rest. Such effort went into this, so proud (although if I had another week, it could've been a bit more polished, sufficed to say ): . I just HAD to throw in those little extras like the fuse burning or the tail wagging.. Bah. Still looks good (: .

Also, as a bonus, I've got my final set of three-sided shape animals: a dog, cat, and a deer. FINALLY. Now we can go back to normal character design (: . My favorite is either the cat or deer, can't decide.

Hope you enjoyed my works (: !.. those of you who read this <:) . I only have one commenter, so I have no clue as to who is or isn't viewing this ): ... (Besides you Chris.. and family, I guess. But they don't comment on the blog for some reason.)

More Animals..

*yawn* .. So yeah. Another week, another set of three-sided shapes. Only a few more weeks of this... only a few more... The panda is the best because I followed the "rules" and he just looks spectacular =P . Enjoy!

Preview.

:D .. I'm sorry, but I could not wait.

! ! !

Ha ha, indeed. Working on my next animation assignment and THIS is all I shall show for now! :D . *teaser* It will be AWEsome. Wish I could show it now, but it is nothing by key frames and roughs, unfortunately ): . You will have to wait a couple of weeks. Until then, sit tight! (:

Dancing Flame and Smoke

Took me while to get this animation done, but I got a wondrous 90% on the assignment. Docked marks for labeling and such but meh, it still looks awesome (: . I'm not one for loving the technical work behind it all, but the animation itself is intense, challenging, but fun. Enjoy! Tis all I have for at least until next week.

Oh Wow! Animation.. And Such

Ha ha.. OH, I think I'm all caught up with uploading my animations (: . I got a couple more here ready to roll. Once I get the assignment I working on here done and shot (not telling you what it is (; ) in a couple of days, then I'll put that one up! Excellent. As well as adding animation, I've got some more character designs. Very nice.

This first one is my stationary seaweed. The class had to make an ordinary seaweed flow back and forth in the waves underwater. We pretty much had the frames given to us, so it was a nice assignment.

Here is a step up from the previous assignment: traveling seaweed!.. Honestly, don't ask why a piece of seaweed who moved across the ocean floor like this :P . By all accounts, it makes no sense. But it was practice for movement I suppose. And cartoons don't have to make sense! :P

Finally, we come to the character design! The assignment was to research then draw your classic cowboy, outlaw, and damsel in distress. I had fun with these, especially.. well, all of them, ha ha. Guess I don't have a favorite. I really liked how the damsel turned out (form, dress, expression, etc.) as well as my slobbish cowboy. Poor horse :P ..

Alrighty *phew*. Now to get back to finishing my current animation assignment. (Only 5 more frames to clean up (: ! ). Hope you enjoyed my work posted today and are excited for more in a couple of days (; .

Something New

Oh my! And now we have moved onto something new in Character Design Class: three-sided shapes! O: Amazing.. ish. It's cool and all, but not entirely my cup of tea :/ . *shrugs* I'll learn to live.

Anywho, the assignment was to draw (with simple three-sided shapes only) a rabbit, shark, and an eagle. I was pretty pleased to be working with animals, because I thoroughly enjoy drawing animals (: . This assignment was a little difficult to work with my enjoyment, however.. The shark was probably the most annoying to me, especially the tail. Even in the pic now, it could be better. That and I could've pushed my silhouette.. but damn. Can only do so much. Actually making them look like they are was challenging enough.

*sigh* And so, thus concludes my uploads for today... maybe the moment. I will be trying to get around to making my animations work .avi-style.. REALLY want to show those :D . Til then..

WAY Behind Schedule Here..

Gomen nasai and many apologies, I don't have a good enough excuse, but I haven't been able to update this site in a while. But no worries, I got a new batch of stuff to show!

Starting with a couple of layout assignments (you.. probably won't see too many of these on here :P . I don't know why..) This picture probably has little to no significance, but I just had to paste my hobo in a box here. Also, I've got my haunted house here. Both involved practice with inclined planes.

These next three were a lot of fun to do (you don't even have to guess, it's pretty well known that Character Design class is my favorite class :D ). The assignment was to draw three out of a handful of stereotypical Halloween icons. I chose a vampire, witch, and Frankenstein. Pardon the lines and such. We had to pick out details and rules of each picture. Too lazy to photoshop it and make it look nice Frankenstein is probably my favorite out of the three :P ..

After creating those drawings, the class when then assigned to take our three characters and transform them into trick-or-treaters (children). I found it enjoyable making them into small kiddie forms. The shapes and costumes were fun to work with. I adore the witch girl, her and her oversized witch hat, ha ha.

That's all I have for now. Hope you enjoyed the sights, tune in next.... *sigh* maybe month... when I upload some more treasures :P . Ciao~

Projects! At Last!

Ok I have finally gained access to the net at school so I am putting up some of my work. Hoo-rah! :)

This first work is just making a ball (or sphere *ehem* being technical..) bounce up and down. Fantastic, no? I thought it was pretty cool watching it.. Of course I'm just starting out with animation, so if I make anything look smooth and similar to what it's actually supposed to be, I am beyond "wow.." . Or course, all this was all carefully done with the help of my teacher, step-by-step, so it was almost bound to turn out good =P .

Here's the next assignment, which I recently finished, and it involved taking the knowledge from making the first bouncing ball and using it to make that ball come out of a window, rebound off four walls, and come to a stop. You would not believe how fun this was.. You have to keep in mind the size of your ball, keeping it the same volume throughout the whole animation, how fast it's going, the amount of energy it contains as it's going along (i.e. it loses more and more energy as you get closer to the end of the scene).

These next few drawings are some character design I did for my first real assignment in that class. We had to draw (stereotypically) a jock, dork, and fairytale princess. I thought I did pretty well, and this class is by far my favorite of them all (: . And.. this is all I can do for now, since uploading takes FORever. Enjoy~

Not Technically Day One.. But My First Post!

Like my description has said, this will be a place to show the work that I've put into being some sort of animator. I started attending The Redhouse College Of Animation in S'toon the beginning of September (technically started like the third week in due to building repairs..). The program lasts three years then.. I don't know. We'll cross that bridge when we come to it.

So here's the game plan. I have this blog site, I post what work I can, and update when possible (or whenever I remember to S: . I can be rather lethargic some days..)

As far as this semester is going, I really enjoy this place. It feels far different from going to high school or elementary. I don't do subjects that I may or may not like and I'm not stuck in a school full of many many others.. I really enjoy working with art in this fashion and like I said, the classrooms are small. The first years of '08-'09 consist of 7 people! And there's only 4 teachers in total (two for their individual classes and the other two do all the rest). Classes are from 9-4 every weekday until around the end of May. Excitement! :D

I don't have any work at hand right now, but I plan to go to school today, get some, and bring it right back for show (: .

Til then..
