Love You Like I Do

Back in action from CTN Expo and my creative engine has received a triple boost! I had an amazing time there last week and met so many incredibly kind and talented people. I can not wait for next year. So, I decided to get more into painting, thus, I give you a couple of images I created yesterday (: Enjoy !

Neko Balloon Painting

I half-created this piece in the middle of working on more important projects. My cat was sitting in his perch behind me and he had this pose and I thought "What if he was a balloon?" . Yeah, me, my crazy imagination, and I. =P This was created with Mischief and Photoshop.

Been Keeping Busy for CTN Expo...

These past couple of months have been so jam-packed with busy. I have been continuing to work away and polish my portfolio for CTN Animation Expo in November, mainly for the recruiting portion. The deadline for recruiting, however, is Oct.26th. Here is a little preview of one of my page, and on my favorite character to design: Griffins!

Falling Through The Cushions (Working Title): Grannie Kook Character Sheet

So here's what I've been busying myself with lately. Although she is not a main character in my graphic novel, she is someone who I chose to make a character sheet for (nothing like practicing more turnarounds =P )

New Business Cards!

Check out my new business card look! I will be attending the CTN Animation Expo on Nov.21-23 (I got the 3-day pass (; ) in Burbank California, so I thought that I would wrangle up some new contact cards to hand out to the people I meet (: . It's my first time at this expo so I'm hoping it'll be great!

One Big Happy... Family...?

Busy busy busy! Ok! Here is an image that is included in my 3D baby alien room that I am plugging away on. It is the baby's lovely family, so pleasant, so enjoying life.

3D Project Sneak Peek!

So, I have been fairly occupied these past few weeks with my latest online class: Introduction to 3D Maya with Eric Keller. It's a 10 week course (cost me a butt load) but it's going well thus far. We get to learn about all different areas of the program, and the main project/assignment is to create a room. I have chosen to make a baby alien room, and I have JUST completed modelling the beast! *phew* . Anywho, here is just a sneak peek image (; . More to come in the future...

CGMA - Character Design For Animation - Week 7

One of my favorite topics this week at CGMA: drawing animals! :) . I reached out this time and looked for an animal that I don't usually draw, just to expand my horizons. I picked a mule deer. A HIPSTER mule deer. Yeah. You can find them grazing near local coffee shops or posing against worn, brick walls, holding old cameras...

CGMA - Character Design For Animation - Week 6

I really had fun with this week's assignment. We had to draw two dragons, one in the style of Jay Ward (designer of such works as Rocky, Bullwinkle, Sherman, Mr. Peabody) and one in the style of Ronald Searle (famous awesome designer from the past). Jay Ward design is on the left, and Ronald Searle is on the right. I very much like my Ronald Searle! (:

CGMA - Character Design For Animation - Week 5

Back again with Week Number 5! This assignment dealt with drawing two (or more) characters interacting on a bench, sort of a telling a story in an image. I chose to go far out (way far out) and made my scene on the moon at a local alien bus stop. A wandering explorer from Earth accidentally stumbles upon this gaggle of aliens waiting for the next bus and is.. a bit stunned...

CGMA - Character Design For Animation - Week 4

So sorry for the delay on posting assignments! It's been a busy couple of weeks. For this assignment we had to draw librarian heads. In my picture, I made a chipper librarian surrounded by more seasoned, stereotypical librarians. Commence awkwardness...

CGMA - Character Design For Animation - Week 3

Yar! Week 3! This week's assignment was using basic shapes and incorporating them into 3 pirate characters while creating a character line up. This image was hard work near the end (for it was another full week of work) but the push felt good and I think it turned out well. The wily granny pirate is my favorite (: .

CGMA - Character Design For Animation - Week 2

Here we are, into week two! The assignment for this week was creating a medieval crusader(s) from the simple shapes that we used from week one: rectangle, circle, and square. We could use any shape, or all three. I chose just the circle and square. We were then to incorporate those basic shapes throughout our character designs. I went silly with this one and had the round bubbly crusader wield a dashing balloon sword again the square young crusader-in-training. I like the tools and brushes I used in Photoshop to create this image. :)

CGMA - Character Design For Animation - Week 1

Hurray! Yet another online classroom I venture into! Exciting! :D This time I am being taught by the talented Nate Wragg. The first week assignment was to create a monster from one of the three simple shapes: circle, triangle, or square. I chose... all three. I wanted double that to six monsters, but I worked about 45hrs this week and just didn't have enough time. There were a lot of shape sketches, believe me...

Snow Comic

Well, first off, I am sorry to disappoint, but the snow WAS animated and pretty and falling down, but due to technical complications, I can not post such evidence... *sigh*. Never the less, here is my image, created entire in CS5 Flash. I am rusty, so it took some time. A co-worker provided the script/idea and I gave it visual life.

Character Design II - Lesson 8 [Kids]

So technically this is the last assignment that I will submit for my Character Design II class, because the last assignment is submitting our portfolios to Stephen Silver and he will give us feedback, tips, and advice. So sad that once again Schoolism classes come to an end... but I am richer with knowledge and experience, so that's alright (: . Anywho, this "last" assign is involves creating four different 15-16 year old kids (grade 10 students, essentially). One is an athlete, one is a bully, one is shy, and one is smart. I like the style in which I finished these off and I hope you do too

Character Design II - Lesson 7 [Animal Character Design]

Lesson 7, and we're almost at the end of the course. So very sad, I do really enjoy art schooling and gaining knowledge from the professionals (: . This lesson was taking a famous person and pretty much making them into an animal of my choice. I chose the star Mo'Nique because I like her sassy-ness in her characters and I made her into a bootylicious kitty.
