Digital Painting Class - Lesson 7 [Vectors]

  It feels like I've come so far since my first lesson with Bobby Chiu. Only a few weeks left ) : . Then hopefully on to Stephen Silver's NEW Character Design 2 class at Schoolism! I hope I can save enough for it.

  Anywho! I dislike vectors, but at least now I know how to properly use the pen tool and such. These classes kind of teach me about Photoshop all over again, and then some ( : . There were also some textures thrown on top of this image here as well. The doodle on the left is Bobby's, the everything else on the right is my doing.

Hair Practice!

  I had so much fun with painting hair that I thought I'd do more! The base head this time was created by me ( : . He looks a little crude, but I like him. Or her. I didn't really give her/him a specific gender...

Digital Painting Class - Lesson 6 [Custom Brushes]

  Lesson 6! Woohoo! I very much enjoyed this one. First, I created some custom photoshop brushes for myself, then I made hair and more hair. The bald lady base head was created by Bobby Chiu, the rest was done by me! I never knew that I enjoyed painting hair this much. So much so, that I'm painting more hair styles on my own for fun. Stay tuned.....

  Week three! Woopee! Textures... Traditionally, yet digitally ( ; . I'm a fan of doing my art traditionally (I prefer my sketchbooks over using my cintiq still) so this was a nice assignment to do because it used both and created this lil creature guy (original sketch done by Bobby Chiu).

Digital Painting Class - Lesson 2 [Colorizing from Black & White]

   Back again! Lesson Two with Bobby Chiu! Heh heh. Anywho, This lesson was focusing on colouring as well as some effects (second image). Again, original art done by Bobby Chiu, I just did the colouring and such (except on the second image. That one I was working gaussian blur and masks). He basically gave me a grey scale image for the first image and then I added colour. It was fun ( : .

Digital Painting Class - Lesson 1 [Visualizing Through Darkness]

  Hurrah! Finished my first assignment with Bobby Chiu's Online Digital Painting Class at Schoolism.com. It was a bit tricky, but still interesting to get into the mind frame of Chiu and how he does things. This assignment was just learning the tools and painting the basics in black and white. The actual drawing was done by Bobby, but I did the shading and lighting. Ooh, and the veins! I made them myself, ha ha .
